Business model

Who pays, for what, and on what logic

Pricing is planned, not live. There is no billing in the product today and no paying customers yet.

Who pays

The importing business — in practice the owner or the procurement lead, whoever signs off the purchase order.

What they pay for

Reduced uncertainty at the moment money is committed, plus a structured, exportable analysis they can share with a broker, a partner or a lender.

Why it is worth paying for

The cost of one mis-classified consignment or one unbudgeted duty line is materially larger than a monthly software fee. That is the value argument — it is an argument, not yet a measured result.

Planned tiers

Trial

Free

A limited number of analyses so an importer can test LANDED on a real invoice before paying.

Source / note: Planned

SME

Not set

Monthly per-seat plan with an included analysis allowance, aimed at importers running regular consignments.

Source / note: Planned — price to be set from pilot willingness-to-pay, not guessed now.

Indenting / Team

Not set

Multi-seat plan with shared history and buyer–supplier coordination workflows.

Source / note: Roadmap — depends on accounts and team features that are not built.

Source / note: No billing exists in the product, there are no paying customers, and no price point is committed. Prices are intentionally unset until pilot willingness-to-pay is observed.

Revenue streams

Subscription per seat

Planned

Monthly plan for importers, trading companies and buying houses that analyze trades regularly.

Usage-based analysis volume

Planned

Analysis credits above the plan allowance, so occasional importers can start small.

Indenting and team workflows

Roadmap

Higher-tier plan for indenting businesses coordinating buyers, suppliers and orders.

Unit-economics assumptions

These are assumptions with their mechanics shown, not measured results. No CAC, LTV or margin figure is claimed because none has been observed.

Cost to serve

Sourced fact

Dominated by AI inference per analysis plus stateless hosting. Scales with usage, not headcount.

Source / note: Architecturally true today: browser front end plus a stateless analysis endpoint.

Gross margin

Assumption

Expected to be software-like once a plan allowance is priced above inference cost per analysis.

Source / note: Unmeasured — depends on real usage distribution.

Acquisition cost

Assumption

Founder-led and channel-led at first, so early CAC is time rather than ad spend.

Source / note: No paid acquisition has been run.

Retention driver

Assumption

Import frequency. An importer running monthly consignments has a recurring reason to return; a one-off importer does not.

Source / note: To be tested in pilots.

Expansion path

  • More seats inside the same importer (procurement, accounts, owner).
  • Higher analysis volume as the tool becomes the default pre-order step.
  • Indenting and team workflows as a higher tier.
  • Longer term, the AI Trade OS surface: execution alongside intelligence.

Source / note: The product is a browser front end plus a stateless AI analysis endpoint, so serving more importers is a compute cost rather than a headcount cost. Defensibility is intended to come from trade-specific classification and cost data accumulated from real analyses over time.
